Day just come… first run in new season 2014. I know that for most runners season is in the full swing already. I would probably start earlier if I would have more time for training (so no work, which I cannot afford).
DIY power bar
Power bar or power gel is the way to give yourself a power bust when you need energy during a long run or exercise. There is plenty of these on the market. Not necessarily cheap thou so… if you can’t buy you need to find a way to get these other way (not talking about stealing of course) – DIY.
New shoes and terrible pain
What worse you can do when you just have purchased new shoes? Yes, you guested it correct… You take these new shoes next day for a 13 km run. Great idea… You just need to be prepared for massive pain.
How I registered for Paris marathon
Two weeks ago I signed up for the 2015 Paris marathon… Why you ask? To chance my luck, see Alan’s face if I get in and finally it seemed a great opportunity to spend some time together. Had no high expectations, moreover was sure that the competition is so fierce that there is no way I’m going to win this one. On Monday Alan called all excited to share the good news, he was in! My inbox was empty… but spam quite full! And there it was, stating clearly the registration code for Moi. At first I could not stop laughing, it was very amusing (the people who know me will confirm that running is not my strongpoint (longest distance 10km).
Cara Scoil donation – Cork Marathon 2014
Hi All,
As you know already I will be running Cork Marathon on behalf of Cara Scoil in Cork.
I would be grateful if you would be able to help me raise money for that school. You can donate via PayPal (donation at the right side of the page) or you can contact me via Contact page to discuss donation details.
New shoes – NB M1400BG2
Running season is starting slowly (for some is already in whole swing) so it is time to look at the running gear…
As I was blogging before https://maditrunner.com/running-shoes/ it seems that my favourite brand of running shoes is New Balance. So decided to check my NB’s before Cork Marathon and … maybe even before Sunday Samsung Night Run. Went to Amphibian King to see some new models. I have brought my old NB (white one) to show how I wear off shoes and straight away after showing these to advisor he told me that I need new ones and I need them now. OK, wasn’t expecting that. Just wanted to buy new ones but still use the old model for training. According to advisor he wouldn’t even wear old ones on the treadmill.
Paris Marathon 2015
Yesterday I thought that I was unlucky and I wasn’t drawn to participate in Paris Marathon in 2015… but today have received below email. Still need to pay for registration but I’m in now.
Running calendar
Yesterday I was looking for any websites even remotely connected to running and have came across one which was giving you all the races which you could be interested in.
That website is http://www.runningcalendar.eu. Please do not be mistaken, website is not showing just European races, there is plenty races as well on the other continents.
Knee pain
Another often runners injury called runner’s knee. Had that last year after coming back to training after trekking holiday in Nepal.
After NHS website again.
Knee pain
Knee pain, also called runner’s knee, can have many causes, such as swelling under the kneecap. Andy Byrne from David Roberts Physiotherapy in Manchester says that knee pain is the most common condition he treats in runners.
Easter food
As always during any holiday season food is a big problem with me.
As on the picture food looks great (couldn’t resist). Had to try everything. Probably ate too much again, but not too bad. Hadn’t got any sweets during last two days but had two glasses of white wine (big nono) and white, regular bread. Salads were good for me but on other hand had as well white borscht with sausage and egg. Ohhh and tai chicken soup too.
