Books…

More than a year into running and I think now is the time to work a little bit on the technique and do proper running training plans… Time to ‘get a grip’. Clocking mileage will probably not work any more.

I was already tried to start reading ‘Daniels’ running formula’ but just couldn’t… I know that many runners will tell that this book is great daniels_formulabut I finding it hard to read, pure facts, numbers, graphs. I like that when talking about maths or IT but not when you are talking about your passion. Passion cannot be close into tables and graphs. But that could be just my point of view. And that just make that book so hard to read. Must tell you actually I still haven’t finished it yet. Still sits on the bedside waiting for me to come back. Maybe will do that but just for that TABLE with FORMULA, just to copy it and make sure what should be my training pace… Mr Daniels, please don’t be offended by my opinion. Passion is missing…

kilianrunordie‘Run or Die’ by Killian Jornet. Totally different book. Just passion, struggle with body, mind, yourself. No word about how you should be training, no plans given to you besides ‘just love what you do’. In my opinion that is a must read book when you are running marathons, short distances, sky runs or trials. Have you ever talked to your muscle when you have been very tired? Have you ever begged your calves not to let you down on these last miles? You probably did. After reading that book you will see that you are not strange. Every runner just does that. In that book I have found passion which has pushed me to run more and more. Maybe without that book I wouldn’t run even one marathon…

New book which I have received from my Wife is book by Goeater (great runner in the past, art-of-runnow personal trainer) and Melvin (journalist). I have just started to read but just after these pages I can tell that book is more interesting. You can feel that they are talking about something they love and not just running facts. Probably fact that book was written by professional journalist is helping as well. But still, I know I will finish that book quite fast and will get more than from Daniels’ one. Of course I need to wait till actually I will finish the book but can say now I will give it a shot and start using theirs training plans…

If it will work I will be a happy bunny… Happy bunny with great marathon results šŸ˜‰
