Today was the first marathon after diagnosis that my IBS is back. Since visit to doctor and meds I felt much better. Mental effect or reality? I don’t know but it was working for the training sessions… So, today was ‘exam’. Felt good but still had to visit pit stop 25 km… Wasn’t happy with that but need to say that still was able to pull off 3:30 without much effort (that was good)…
Irish Marathons and longer for 2015
Recently I have been asked via my website for info about some Irish marathons in 2015 and since I look at all sorts of lists of marathons in and outside of Ireland I have decided to put together the list of Irish marathons for year 2015.
IBS just feck off…
Meds taken… dose increased. That didn’t help. Decided that I will need visit to the doctor. Appointment was scheduled for Friday and I’m glad that I did it. Got additional meds (strange, same dose but looks to be working better)… Now, 7 days on the new meds and after that back to regulars but with higher dose…
Better grip?
So, now I have two pairs of trail shoes. All covered in mud Inov-8 TrailRoc 245 and new pair of, and now suprise again, Saucony Peregrine 4.0. Bought (bought is too big word, got two gift vouchers to Amphibian King, so could afford these) these cause I think I need trail shoes with better grip than Inov-8. Don’t get me wrong TrailRoc 245 are great but I think that sole if quite flat for trail shoes (had couple of slips during the runs)…
…at last Hoka’s
I wanted to try Hoka’s for a long time as you know –> https://maditrunner.com/just-let-me-try-these/. Have even these on my feet when was on the Dublin marathon expo but still wanted to test them… I was reading more and more reviews about the shoes and with each next read it seams that Hoka’s are really great shoes…
Ulcerative colitis won this time…
Today was the worst day of marathon run I ever had. Now, I know that my UC is back. Remission has finished. Illness is in full swing (at least now I know that all problems I had on the courses was caused by me eating too much for breakfast or day before)… So, need to beat it again. At this stage I have increased amount of medicine taken, trying to schedule specialist appointment and hope for the best…
DNF – shame on me
And it has happened… I had DNF under Clontarf marathon run on the 27th of December. I feel realy bad now. Especially when I can see the Facebook statuses of fellow runners who finished that marathon or the one in Portumna…
Unusual Christmas song
I have wrote below post back in November 2011 on my previous blog… That blog was about how a Polish person sees and experience Ireland. And that post… ohhh you can just read it 😉 Link to original post –> http://www.mojairlandia.com/2011/11/27/1429/
Just around the corner…
… Christmas. Of course, I should be in festive season mood now. But I’m not. All I can think of is running. Would I be prepared for the next season? Would I be able to run these ultra runs? All that sits in the back of my mind… I would say not even in the back of my mind, it is taking over my head completely. What races to run? What runs to jog? How to plan everything? And I would like to squeeze more runs into my calendar. Can I do that? In some cases yes but I need to remember that ultra runs need more recovery time, which will force me to choose the runs carefully…
Hybrid in below zero temperature…
Walking out the dog around 5:40 in the morning wasn’t very pleasent expirience. Temperature was below zero for sure – freezing… So, wasn’t looking like a great day for running marathon, but… No buts actually. Temperature will rise for sure later. Yep, it went up to hoping 1 degree Celcius…
