Just be fit again

Ages ago I could run marathon… now I’m overweight and can’t run at all. I tried already couple of times to get back into fitness. Tried to do same thing which brought me into running – weights and then little bit cardio… But head was never there. After couple of weeks of weight lifting I was always giving up… All in the head.

Looking back now it’s hard to believe I was able to run 100 miles at once. Now I can’t run at all. My weight was then well below 70 kg, now over just under 90 kg (shaved recently 5 kg yay). All started with cycling to work and actually crashes during cycling to work. Two elbows and rib fractured later I was out of shape. I tried still to run but it was more surviving jogging than running. And on some stage I stopped training all together. My excuse was work. I was working more but that shouldn’t stop me from running. Ohhhh… and discovered ‘Just Eat’, which didn’t help with my IBS (and that is impacting your head, always thinking if I will need go to toilet when running)

Now, being over one year in lock down I decided for desperate step to work with personal trainer. Got motivation, got training plan, checking my food again (cooking again). Those 5 kg shaved are thanks to training now. I need to stay focus now… Stay focus. Yesterday I reach first milestone – 5 km run. It was slow, I was wreck tired but I did it. I know that it sounds silly – 5 km – but my last jog was back on Christmas 2019 with my Sister when I was visiting Poland. Back back then I was already not fit. So, now it is case of from ‘couch potato’ to whatever long distance (ideally marathon). So, fingers crossed… Ohhh… and living now in Mayo.
