Life with MadITRunner

The mad IT runner asked me to write a post for his page on a topic of my own choice (risky).
The first thing that came to mind – what is it like to share life with a runner?  Someone who trains 3 hours every day and goes for an hour long walk with a dog. Someone who runs 25 km a day and walks another 10 km. Someone with a lot of stamina and drive but clearly not much time.

Yes, time seems to be the main issue with runners, especially the mad ones 😉 The first few months after he turned from a regular runner into a crazy one were the toughest ones. Suddenly a large chunk of together time got taken away, disappeared.

We used to decide what to do with free time on the go, now it’s all about working around the training schedule. Sure it’s hard and sometimes all you want to do is for him to stop for a week (rather than just once a week) but at the same time you learn to appreciate the time spent together and have more of it for own hobbies. Once you accept the new order it’s easier to see the positives.

First of all it highly motivates to reach for your dreams, whatever they are, nothing is impossible. If your significant other is a runner  food waste is not an option. He will eat most of what can be found in the house (chocolate needs to be hidden in my little secret place,  the only way to make it last longer than a day) and will gladly finish your own meal 😉

And finally, you can always tell him to go for a run if some alone time is needed and he will do it with pleasure 😉

On that note, Honey how would you like to go for a run???
