Sounds French…

I have decided to focus my efforts on running marathons. Of course that doesn’t mean that I won’t participate in other shorter runs but they will become warm ups and preparations for the marathon season… I know that can sound absurd having just one marathon under my belt. Decision has been made. Marathons are the targets… As many as I can. And seriously I’m thinking about 5 a year. Started midyear 2013 I would be happy to get 3 by the end of December.

Have run Cork City Marathon already, have signed to participate in Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes. So that giving me 2 together. It was time to find third one and decision has been made – Marathon des Escargots. Sounds really fancy, sounds French 😉 but that run is taking place in Portarlington in Co. Laios in Ireland. Seems to be fairly flat besides one spike (need to run it twice cause it has two laps). Portarlington is just about a hour drive from our house but I don’t think that it will be great idea to drive down there on the day of the run (even when the run starts at 10AM). This marathon taking place on the back roads. Funny enough roads won’t be closed and there won’t be many water stations. But you cannot expect same service from the small marathon which is organized by small group of people…

I’m must admit that marathons, searching for them, training and so on makes me very exited and hopefully in the afternoon of 12th of July I would be able to say that I have 2 marathons done and 98 to go…
