Oh my… Today was really bad day. Haven’t finished my training which wasn’t super hard really. Did similar, or maybe even harder, exercise a week ago and in warmer weather and all was good. But today it was a disaster. It supposed to be 8 km @ 5.15 pace followed 6 km @ 4.50. Run not too long, not too fast all the time…
But something wasn’t right straight from the start. Even getting to pace @ 5.15 wasn’t so easy and it supposed to be really. I have decided to run to nearby park thinking that doing loops will be nice and easy. Exactly as it was in Portugal for the past week and so. So, in Portugal was warmer, true, but there was no wind at all. And I think that what actually hit me in park in Lucan. Wind was in my face for half of the loop. I know that it just an excuse but I think that it just added up to travel back day before or that I have chosen to run in old ‘new’ shoes – Hoka Infinite. And those are quite new event that probably being around 5 – 6 years old. Now I know why this pair looks almost like new. They are terrible. Maybe it’s just me but I have a feeling that you have two arches in each foot. Regular one on the inside and in this shoe you have another one on the outside of the foot. But even with bad shoes and being tired from travelling day before I supposed to be able to finish this training. But I just couldn’t. Had to stop in the middle of second part of training when I supposed to run 6 km @ 4.50. There was just nothing, no power to go through. I wasn’t feeling 100%. Maybe small flu or cold. My Wife took covid test, she wasn’t feeling great neither, and it was negative. So, I’m really hoping that I will be stronger in next couple of days.
It was quite interesting to read a review of running shoes. Since I myself am fond of long-distance running and often buy myself sneakers, it was interesting to read about them.
